Artist Megan Chartier is a classical cellist creating ballpoint and ink artwork in between performances.
The alias Inkermezzo combines the words ink, her favored medium, and intermezzo, a short musical movement inserted between acts of a larger work. Searching for identity when performances halted in the early pandemic, Megan embraced musical artwork; she was still a cellist, even without a stage. Her illustrations focus on classical music education, awareness, and activism through realistic portraiture and detailed anatomical works. Read more.

Cards
Throughout 2023 and 2024, fifty-four portraits of classical composers were hand drawn with black, gray, and white ink, and 24k gold foiling. Each portrait is surrounded by music that represents a composers' assigned value. The back of the card, also completely hand-drawn, features references to popular Inkermezzo works and hints at elements of future designs. An accompanying playlist is available on Apple Music and Spotify. The deck is currently in production and will be available for preorder in September.
